Description
The Arc Eye Hawkfish is a saltwater fish known for its distinctive bright red body with a white underside. It gets its name from the dark, semi-circular line located beneath its eye, which resembles an arc. This species is popular among aquarists due to its vibrant colors and active behavior.
Reef Safe
While they are generally considered reef safe, they may pose a threat to small invertebrates and crustaceans.
Environment
Arc Eye Hawkfish require a tank with plenty of live rock or coral for them to perch on. They prefer a well-lit tank with moderate water movement. They can tolerate a range of water conditions, but they do best in water with a temperature between 72 and 78 degrees Fahrenheit.
Behavior
Arc Eye Hawkfish are known for their active and curious nature. They often perch on live rock or coral to observe their surroundings and hunt for food. Despite their small size, they can be quite territorial and may show aggression towards other fish, particularly those of the same species.
