Description

The Powder Brown Tang, also known as the Powder Brown Surgeonfish, is a popular saltwater fish known for its striking colors. It has a brown body with a white mark on its cheek between the eyes and mouth, and a yellow dorsal fin.

Reef Safe

Yes, it is considered safe for reef tanks but may nibble at large-polyped stony corals and clam mantles.

Environment

The Powder Brown Tang requires a tank with plenty of live rock for grazing and hiding. It prefers a strong, varied current and well-oxygenated water.

Behavior

This species is generally peaceful, but may exhibit territorial behavior towards other Tangs. It is best to keep only one per tank unless the tank is large enough to support multiple.
