Description
The Dogface Puffer is a unique and charming saltwater fish known for its distinctive "dog-like" face. It has a rounded body that is primarily gray, with darker shades or splotches. It is known for its ability to inflate its body to twice its size when threatened.
Reef Safe
Dogface Puffers are not considered reef safe as they may nip at invertebrates and corals.
Environment
A well-filtered aquarium with plenty of space to swim is ideal for the Dogface Puffer. They need plenty of hiding spots amongst rocks or coral, and a sandy substrate is preferred.
Behavior
Dogface Puffers are generally peaceful but can be semi-aggressive with smaller fish. They are slow swimmers but are very active and curious, often seen exploring their surroundings.
