Description
The Harlequin Tusk is a strikingly beautiful saltwater fish, renowned for its vibrant coloration and prominent teeth. It has a deep blue body with orange stripes and large, tusk-like front teeth, hence its name. These fish are native to the tropical waters of Australia and the Indo-Pacific region.
Reef Safe
Yes, but with caution. Harlequin Tusks can be kept in a reef tank, but they may nip at small invertebrates and coral.
Environment
These fish prefer a well-decorated tank with plenty of hiding spots. They need a lot of swimming space and do best in a tank with live rock for grazing.
Behavior
Harlequin Tusks are semi-aggressive fish. They are generally peaceful towards other species but can be territorial and aggressive towards their own kind. They are also known to use their large teeth to rearrange objects in the tank or dig in the substrate.
